What to expect from the Alfa Romeo Tonale?

There will soon be something new in the Alfa Romeo showrooms. The arrival of the Tonale SUV will give wings to an automaker that is about to experience an interesting takeoff in North America.

And this flight will be fueled by the new Tonale. Here's a look at what to expect from this new vehicle.

Alfa Romeo style

Alfa Romeo products have a signature look that is unique in the industry, namely the brand's signature inverted triangle grille. Not only is it unique, it's also full of character, so it makes the model look incredible. With the three visible headlights on each side, the model will not be mistaken for another by motorists.

The model is positioned as an entry-level model, below the Stelvio.

Two engines

The good news is that a plug-in hybrid variant will be on the menu as an option. It will combine a 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a 90 kW electric motor mounted at the rear to provide all-wheel drive. A 15.5 kWh battery will be included for a combined output of 272 horsepower. The range is announced at 48 kilometers. It will therefore be possible to consume very little gas with this Tonale.

For those who want more or who will spend most of their time on the road, a 2-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine will also be on the menu. It will offer 256 horsepower for high performance.

Behind the wheel

Of course, we haven't driven the Tonale yet, since it will arrive in the first quarter of 2023. However, knowing the Alfa Romeo tradition, we expect a very inspired driving experience, unique to Italian products. Of course, in the driver's seat, we will be able to enjoy the latest advances in connectivity with the Uconnect 5 system, whose speed is matched only by the model's performance.
